Private Lessons and Volleyball-Specific Personal Training

Whether you're looking to attack the ball with more power or increase your vertical jump,  one on one training can help you get the results you're looking for. As a volleyball coach of 25+ years with a background in personal training, I offer both volleyball skills instruction AND volleyball-specific strength and conditioning training.  


Private Lessons 

Private lesson provide the focused attention that players rarely receive during team practices - at any level. These sessions help players enhance their individual skills, including attacking, blocking, serve receive, serving, setting, and individual defense. Sessions are customized to the goals of each player and include the use of video as needed to provide immediate feedback and allow players to see where their form/mechanics are breaking down or need adjustment. Lessons can be private (1-1 ratio) or small group (up to 4 players).  


Volleyball-Specific Personal Training 

Strength and conditioning is a key component for players looking to take their game to the next level.  The game of volleyball requires the essential qualities of strength, agility, quickness, power and explosiveness, body awareness and control, core strength,  flexibility, and lateral speed.  Success is not just about completing the skill ( i.e. pass, attack, set), but the efficiency of movement in getting to the ball to begin with. Volleyball-specific personal training sessions are customized to the needs of each player and may include include any or all of the following: agility training, strength training, plyometrics, speed work, reaction time drills, flexibility (yoga), and mindfulness and mental training.  


All sessions are 1 hour in length and held at Carolina Day School located at 1345 Hendersonville Rd, Asheville, NC 28803.
